Bite's Loco Moco

Spanish rice topped with the pork belly burger, two eggs any style, and a brown mushroom gravy. served with toast (wheat, white, rye, sourdough, english muffin or cinnamon raisin toast) $13

The Bite version of this dish is pretty interesting. They took a Spanish approach to it which I initially thought would be pretty cool. In breaking down the key 'gredients, it was lacking in some departments.

The Gravy. I think there was gravy. Now this is more preference but there just wasn't enough for me. I like gravy. I. Like. gravy. I eat gravy everyday.(not true) It gives the LM its mushed up dirty juice greatness for everything else to taint with its flavors. Buuuut, that'll probably be a plus if you like it light on the gravy side.

The rice was a tad dry and I feel the dish needed something else Spanish-ish-y to really tie the rice to the rest of it. Meat was a bit dry as well and wasn't as flavorful as most. Made some pretty decent sandwiches with the toast though so it ended well. Not my favorite LM in town but I like that they tried something different. I think a few kinks and they could be on to something.

Rating aside, the atmosphere at this spot is great. The staff is great. Ill be back to try some of their cold press goodness.
